Call that Cute British Girl

Have you ever tried to call that girl you met at the trade show last year in the United Kingdom?  Probably not, because of the rate that your cell phone carrier will charge you.  It’s absolutely insane the rates that traditional carriers charge to call internationally.

Now, you can get lower rates if you are willing to pay an additional monthly fee for international calling, but do you really want to do that?  Then, you are committed long term to making international calls and who knows, that girl from the UK might get a steady boyfriend and not want you to call any more.

I always thought international calling from my cell phone was too expensive.  Just the same reason that I don’t drive a Mercedes.  Too expensive.  So I thought anyway.

That is until I realized that I didn’t have to buy my long distance minutes from my primary cell phone carrier.  There are web sites where you can purchase international calling minutes and make them available on your normal cell phone.  That makes a lot of sense to me.

Now, I plan to call that cute girl that I met in London last year at the trade show.  There’s another show that my company is sending me to in Manchester this year.

I sure hope she is going to be there.
