Nightline Internet Dating Stats

Showing cleavage in a profile picture increases response rates by 76%.

According to a report that aired on ABC Nightline, the internet dating business is booming.  Take a look at some interesting stats about internet dating:

• 74% of singles who are looking for love do so online.
• 113 million people visit internet dating sites.
• Online dating is a $700 million business.
• Men who say “Howdy” at the beginning of their message get a 40% greater response rate than those who say “Hey.”
• Women who show cleavage in their pictures get a 79% greater response rate.  (Same as at the bar I suspect.)
• iPhone users get nearly twice as much sex as Android users.  (What?)
