Relax - it’s only dating!

Many singles get quite nervous before meeting someone in person that they first met online. Even though you’ve gotten to know someone quite well online through emails, phone conversations, profiles and photos, it can still be a bit nerve racking getting ready for your first date! Your mind is like a programmable device, it reacts to situations the way it is programmed. So, if you program it right, it will respond to situations the way you want, automatically!

Here are some tips on how to relax before and during your first date:

  • Keep your thoughts positive and healthy
  • Walk tall and smile!
  • Control the speed of your voice and don’t stutter and talk too fast
  • How you feel will set the tone, make sure you are dressed accordingly and feel good about the possibility of the introduction.
  • Your interaction with others on your first date will tell the other person a lot about you. For example, treat your waiter with respect and tip well!
  • Practice relaxation before the date, sit, breath and be calm.
  • Have fun!
